Second edition of Trail Conte Rosso

Under the patronage of the Municipality of Avigliana and with the support of Fidal, the second edition of the Trail del Conte Rosso is back, a sporting event organized by 4Fun sports friends which includes an 18km competitive route and 1000 meters in altitude towards the Sacra di San Michele and a 7.5km run/walk for everyone with an elevation gain of 280m. The second will take place on April 2 with meeting from 7.30 at the bar of the Tennis club in via Suppo 4 and departure at 9 from the sports fields.

The trail with technical sections that alternate with fast and adrenaline-pumping single tracks, with breathtaking views of the Avigliana lakes, combines part of the medieval history of the lower Val di Susa. After leaving the lakes behind you can then admire the Sacra di San Michele along the way, before a quick descent on the path of the Princes, towards the Castle of Avigliana, built in the 10th century and passed into the hands of the Savoy where the Conte Rosso was born Amadeus VII of Savoy.

Giving the name to the trail, a passage around and inside what are now the remains of the Castle cannot be missing before returning towards the Athletics Track of Avigliana, the current sports center for many kids from the Lower Val di Susa. The short trail will instead develop taking the castle as its fulcrum, which also includes fast single tracks and challenging, albeit short, climbs. It will also be open to walkers.

To welcome and wait for the athletes there will be the Musicians and Flag-wavers of the City of Avigliana as well as the enthusiasm of all the staff of the Asd For Fun Sports Team, an association of which Athletics Avigliana is a member. The start and finish will therefore be on the athletics track, while the welcome and final pasta party will always be held in the sports facility in Via Suppo in the spaces made available by the Sportland Asd tennis club.
