Village Bertassi

Historical information on the ancient settlement dates back to 1630 when the surrounding countryside was an epic battleground of Piedmontese and French armies. The village belongs to municipalities of Avigliana and Sant’Ambrogio di Torino.
The chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. From here starts a trail connecting the village to the Castle of Avigliana with the path S501 through Rocce Rosse, Monte Capretto and the Marshes of the Mareschi, leading finally to Mortera hamlet and to Saint Micheal’s Abbey.
