Vacation, sea, water, sand, desire for escape: these are the themes that the third and fourth year students of the tourist sections of It Galileo Galilei in Avigliana are involved in at the summer art school held from 5 to 9 July at the Institute. Approaching different artistic techniques, creating ceramic and pictorial works with their own hands, learning to set up an exhibition and to tell about art, the children will welcome visitors and tourists in the splendid setting of the historic center of Avigliana with guided tours and educational workshops.
Piazza Conte Rosso and the Giardino delle Donne will be the spaces that will frame and highlight the works developed by the students, while the prestigious spaces of the Porta Ferrata Gallery will host the collective exhibition on a “sea” theme by the artists Vinicio Perugia, Piero Della Betta, Riccardo Dapino, Stefano Simone, Cristina Ramone, Domenico Ianaro, Giada Bianchi, Freiart, Mahtab Moosavi, Roberto Simone and the bookshop curated by the Aviglianese bookshop La Casa dei Libri.
But why the sea? “Because blue – explains Silvia Cagliero of the Lineacurva Association – is a symbol of freedom, evasion, lightness, in a moment that has come after months of darkness like a seaside holiday at the arrival of summer”.
Blue. In Avigliana you can hear the sea, it is a project of the Lineacurva cultural association and will take place with the collaboration of the Galilei Technical Institute, the Mutual Aid Workers’ Society and with the patronage of the Municipality of Avigliana.
