Opening of the Roman villa of Caselette and the Primavalle area

On Sunday 14 April, on the occasion of the first opening for the 2024 season and the Patronal Feast of San Giorgio in Caselette, it will be possible to visit the Roman villa of Caselette to discover how the Romans lived in the Susa Valley in the first century AD. Going back in time it will be possible to enter the rooms of the villa and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the most important suburban residential complexes from the Roman era in Piedmont.

It will also be possible to take part in the free tour, guided by a naturalist, of the Primavalle Area. Located on the slopes of Mount Musinè, it is home to numerous species of animals and plants that are rare at a national and regional level which make it one of the Piedmont areas with the greatest biodiversity. A true “xerothermic oasis” which also includes the Upper and Lower Lakes of Caselette.

The Roman Villa of Caselette will be open to visitors from 2.30pm to 6.00pm with the first visit starting at 2.30pm, the second at 3.30pm and the last at approximately 4.30pm.

The Primavalle Area, with a meeting point at the Roman Villa of Caselette, will be open to visitors from 2.30pm to 6.00pm with the first visit starting at 2.30pm while the second is scheduled for around 4.00pm.

The day is promoted by the Ar.c.A. association. (Art, Archeology and Culture in Almese) with the patronage of the municipality of Almese, in collaboration with the Magnetto Foundation, Finder S.p.A, Univoca, Treasures of Alpine art and culture and the Archaeological Superintendency of Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Turin.
