Flash mob dragonesse of Avigliana

February 4th is World Cancer Day. To celebrate it, the Dragonesses of Avigliana, with the patronage of the Municipality of Avigliana, have planned a flash mob on Saturday 3 February 2024 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm in the atrium in front of the Le Torri shopping centre. The Dragonesses are in fact a social promotion association and a sports team of women who have undergone breast surgery, with the aim of welcoming and helping other women who have had breast cancer to find the energy to take back their lives. They promote the sporting activity of dragon boating and social initiatives, they collaborate with local health bodies and companies on medical-scientific in-depth analysis on issues relating to breast cancer and its consequences.

The members of the association will propose to carry out free-body physical activity in groups, in the atrium in front of the Avigliana Coop, trying to involve the public to underline the importance of primary prevention through correct lifestyles. Furthermore, leaflets from the association will be distributed in which the European code against cancer is reported to invite citizens to undergo clinical examination campaigns, as part of the objectives of secondary prevention. Thanks to the event, attention is also focused on tertiary prevention through the story of the experience of women who have undergone surgery for breast cancer and who, through physical and sporting activity, have found a psychophysical balance, reducing the possibility of recurrences.
