walk “parco della dora” – 22° edition

Departure from the Avigliana F.S. Station, you will take the cycle/pedestrian path on the right bank of the Dora Riparia to reach the Church of the Madonna del Ponte (in the Villa Quagliotti property) and then continue towards the Ponte Vecchio di Sant’Ambrogio. After crossing the SS24 and a short stretch on the SP through country roads, you will reach Villar Dora with a stop at the Chapel of San Rocco, at the Parish Church and in the garden of the Castle. After reaching Almese from the central Piazza Martiri, you continue in front of the old wash house, on the bridge over the Messa, next to the birthplace of Scipione Riva Rocci, on the square of the old Parish Church and then through the villages of Fucinassa and Gambabosco up to Goja del Pis. Return to Piazza Martiri passing through the Giorda hamlet and continuing towards the Ricetto di San Mauro and then continuing along the Messa and then through fields back to Avigliana arriving at the Grangia hamlet, then along Via Almese, the Corona Verde area and the cycle/pedestrian walkway over the Dora returning to the Avigliana F.S. station.

Travel time: 5 hours without stops.

LOGISTICS:

Meeting point for departure: Avigliana train station at 8:15 am (in conjunction with trains arriving from Turin P.N. and Bussoleno)

Place of arrival: Avigliana train station at 6:00 pm/6:30 pm (the train to Turin P.N. leaves at 6:45 pm)
