The war in Ukraine and the future of Europe
In order to offer elements of analysis and reflection on the dramatic events we are experiencing, the cultural association Circularly organized a meeting to be held on Monday 14 March at 8.45 pm in the Municipal Council room of Avigliana (Piazza Conte Rosso 7) and which will be entitled “The future of Europe is at stake with Ukraine”.
The speaker will be Professor Gian Giacomo Migone, former Senator of the Republic, president of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Senate from 1992 to 2001, professor of History of North America and holder of the chair of History of Euro-Atlantic relations at the University of Turin.
In his speech, the former Senator Migone will recall the main passages of a thirty-year history that, starting from the fall of the Berlin Wall, has had the United States, Europe and Russia as protagonists, with variable geometries often difficult to read for the ‘opacity of the intentions that move global policies, trying to relate them to what is happening now and offering some points for discussion on the possibility of resolving the current dramatic crisis.
Given the importance of the topic and the need to comply with current regulations, please arrive a few minutes early and be equipped with a mask.
