A new film at the Fassino cinema starring the mountain: The Last peak.
Tom Ballard was among the most brilliant and talented climbers in the world. In 2019, while attempting to climb one of the most dangerous mountains in the Himalayan range, Nanga Parbat, the British and Italian mountaineer Daniele Nardi lost their lives. Unclear are the circumstances of their disappearance, wrapped in a thick snow of assumptions and conjectures. A few kilometers from the point of their discovery, 25 years earlier, Alison Hargreaves died on K2. The English climber, one of the greatest ever, was the mother of Tom Ballard. The Last Summit, a documentary directed by Chris Terrill, traces the journey of Tom’s sister Kate to Nanga Parbat to bid her brother a final farewell. A memorable story, emotionally delicate and intense, which shines with its multiple nuances and convinces with its intelligent setting. The last peak wisely and successfully expands the range of action, deepening another very important protagonist, namely the mountain.
