Due to the bad weather conditions of Sunday the 26th September all the events of Sunday the 26 th of September are delayed to Sunday the 7th of November 2021
The Festival was born in 2018 by the will of the Environment Department and sees the involvement of schools, inhabitants and tourists in playful, recreational and environmental education initiatives, in order to raise awareness among citizens about issues such as: waste management , renewable energies, air pollution, sustainable agriculture and biodiversity.
For the 2nd consecutive year, the initiative will take place in conjunction with Legambiente’s national campaign “Clean up the World”, which is why it will take place on the final day of 7 November . Also this year it will be organized as a “fair” with free admission in the Alveare Verde park, with informative/exhibition stalls of local eco-sustainable productions, plus a series of events (such as the “round table” with some experts on a certain theme , the show cooking of the anti-waste food project “Resto … Mangia!”, the award ceremony of the environmental photo contest, the exchange of clothes taken from the “AviglianaRiusa” reuse center and the “oro verde” treasure hunt) that can attract audiences of various ages. From this year there will also be an eco-sustainable street food in the adjacent square.
From Friday 24, in the evening in the adjacent Piazza del Popolo, eco-sustainable street food will take place within which various environmental associations will be able to present their activities. Eco-sustainable street food will also be active throughout the day of Sunday 7 November, in conjunction with the Sustainability Festival.
On Saturday 25th, as part of “Let’s clean up the world”, a morning of waste collection will be organized in the city open to the population with the group of eco-volunteers of Avigliana and a walk-plogging for members of a walking group with meeting place 9 am in Piazza del Popolo. At 10.30, in the green beehive city park, the library will organize environmental-themed readings for the little ones.
