sport and rights – welcome st. ambroueus fc

An event of the Avigliana basketball club with the patronage of the Municipality of Avigliana will take place on Saturday 31 August at the sports field in via Drubiaglio, 1 in Avigliana. The football tournament is scheduled from 3pm to 6pm, while from 6pm there will be an open discussion on rights, sport and anti-racism.

The host of the event is in fact the Sant’Ambroeus Football club Milan, the first football team made up of political refugees and migrants to be registered in a championship of the Italian Football Federation in Northern Italy. It is not just a football team, but a real social project that fights against racism and ignorance. Founded in 2018, the team was made up mainly of young asylum seekers and refugees. The club has grown and today has a team registered in the third category, one at the Italian Sports Center (non-profit organisation, founded on volunteering, recognized as a sports promotion body by CONI) and a women’s team.
