Special appointment at the cinema: “The boy with pink trousers”
Special appointment at the cinema with the film “The boy with pink trousers”: the film takes its title from a Facebook page created in 2012 to bully a fifteen-year-old, Andrea Spezzacatena. One day his mother Teresa makes a mistake while washing and the trousers she gave Andrea for his birthday come out of the washing machine dyed pink. He doesn’t worry too much and the next day he decides to wear them to school anyway. The trousers trigger the reaction of a group of schoolmates who target him, persecuting him with continuous humiliations. When the Facebook page “The boy with pink trousers” was born, online verbal violence no longer knew any limits. Andrea, desperate, decided to take his own life on 20 November 2012. His is the first in a long series of suicides caused by cyberbullying in Italy.
