Sociality at festivals, third edition

This initiative was strongly desired by a group of young people with disabilities who, by attending cultural events such as the historic Valsusa Film Festival, developed the desire to have a space where they could offer a different perspective on disability and talk about who they are and how they live, especially in terms of socialising.
Socialità in Festival is a cultural platform created with people with disabilities for the communities to which they belong, with the aim of organising events that embrace the social paradigm of disability.

Socialità in festival has been joined by families, associations and cooperatives that have been working on these issues for years: it is an attempt to build a shared path that appeals to everyone, because cultural changes can only become reality if they are built together. Socialità in festival does not propose solutions: it wants to contribute to asking questions based on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The third edition opens with the film La vita da Grandi (Life as Adults) by Greta Scarano, starring Matilda Deangelis, based on a book and a true story, Mia sorella mi rompe. Storia di autismo normale (My Sister Drives Me Crazy: A Story of Normal Autism) by Damiano and Margherita Tercon (the Terconauti). The film was nominated among the Italian films in the running for the Oscars.
