Piazza Pop

Inauguration ceremony of the new Piazza del Popolo, the civic heart of the city, which has undergone a major urban regeneration project that has restored its public and pedestrian character. Wider spaces for people, enhancement of the existing greenery, and new paving using Luserna stone blocks. The historic plane trees that characterised its skyline have been preserved, bearing witness to the link between memory and transformation that guided the entire project.

This is a significant moment that highlights the collaboration between local institutions, organisations and community groups, which have made this achievement possible, but it is also an opportunity for a day of celebration open to all residents.

From 4 pm, there will be a children’s area and a food court.

At 6.00 pm, there will be official opening remarks by Andrea Archinà, Mayor of Avigliana, and Jacopo Suppo, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Turin.

Special guest appearance by the neighbourhood comedian Davide D’Urso.

The evening will continue at 7.30 pm with a DJ set by the collective Sinapsi and will conclude with a concert by Bandabardò, organised by Borgate dal Vivo, scheduled for 9.30 pm.
