peace steps

“I like walking alone along the country lanes, among rice plants and wild herbs, carefully placing one foot after the other, aware that I am walking on this wonderful Earth. In those moments, existence is something prodigious and mysterious. It is usually thought that it is a miracle to walk on water or in the air. Instead, I believe that the real miracle is being able to walk on the Earth.” Thích Nhất Hạnh

Those who love walking can participate in Passi di pace, a silent walk that will always take place on Saturday 26 November, with an appointment at 2 pm in the canopy of the green beehive park, and which – in the intention of the organizers – will allow one’s inner peace to symbolically spread in the world. The walk will take place together with the initiatives that will take place on the occasion of the Day against violence against women, with the patronage of the Municipality of Avigliana.

Thích Nhất Hạnh spiritual leader, poet, peace activist, Vietnamese Buddhist monk wrote in his book “Peace at every step” that walking is, for the lucky ones who have two legs and two feet, an almost automatic movement that favors get distracted and think about something else. Passi di Pace aims to make us be present in the steps we take, in the body and in the environment in which we move. A simple practice that makes us enjoy the conscious breathing of the body.

«Peace in walking – explain the organizers – together in silence is a meditative practice. Silence is essential. We need silence, we need air, just as plants need light. If our mind is crowded with words and thoughts, there is no room for us.” For information and subscriptions contact Luciano Palladino on +39 3474215685
