Opening roman villas of Almese and Caselette and Primavalle area
On Sunday 15 September it will be possible to visit the Roman villa of Almese and the Roman villa of Caselette to discover how the Romans lived in the Susa Valley in the first century AD. Going back in time it will be possible to enter the rooms of the villas and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of two of the most important suburban residential complexes from the Roman era in Piedmont. It will also be possible to take part in the free tour, guided by a naturalist, of the Primavalle Area. Located on the slopes of Mount Musinè, it is home to numerous species of animals and plants that are rare at a national and regional level which make it one of the Piedmont areas with the greatest biodiversity. A true “xerothermic oasis” which also includes the Upper and Lower Lakes of Caselette.
The Roman villa of Caselette will be open to visitors from 3.30pm to 6.30pm with the first visit starting at 3.30pm, the second at 4.30pm and the last at 5.30pm.
The Primavalle Area, with a meeting point at the Roman villa of Caselette, will be open to visitors from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm with the first visit starting at 3.30 pm while the second is scheduled for 5.00 pm.
SPECIAL: the Roman villa of Almese, located in Grange di Rivera, will be open to visitors from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm with the first visit starting at 3.00 pm while the second is scheduled for 4.30 pm. At 6 pm, following the free guided tours, the Ar.c.A. Association of Almese, with the patronage of the Municipality of Almese, with the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Turin, in collaboration with Cam.To, awaits you to attend a piano concert, with free access, with music by Scott Joplin revived by pianist Pier Paolo Strona (for information and reservations related to the show: arca.almese@gmail.com – tel. 3420601365). On the occasion of the evening, it will be possible to taste an aperitif proposed by G.Bosio- Olivovitecoltore in Almese, based on wines and typical products of the Almese area.
