M’illumino di meno – edition 2024

Avigliana participates in Mi illumino di meno 2024: for the occasion, the lights of Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Conte Rosso, the sanctuary of the Madonna dei Laghi and the church of Santa Maria Maggiore will be symbolically turned off. Citizens are also asked to turn off their lights on Friday 16 February.
Furthermore, some restaurants in Avigliana will offer aperitifs and candlelit dinners for the occasion, culinary experiences with zero kilometer products in the context of energy saving. Participating in the initiative are Casa Conte Rosso and, as restaurants, Ciclocucina (piazza Conte Rosso 20) and Nuova Trattoria del Moro (corso Laghi 130), which will offer a candlelit dinner. On the evening of Friday 16 February at 9pm there will also be a meeting for the establishment of the Renewable Energy Community at the Municipality of Avigliana, aimed at all fellow citizens who have installed photovoltaic systems in the last 4 years and who therefore can join the Cer as producers of power.
Finally, the French municipality of Tresserve, twinned with Avigliana, takes up the appeal launched by our city and for the occasion will symbolically turn off the lights of some important points of the town.
M’illumino di Meno 2024 edition is in fact no borders, it looks into the distance and extinguishes borders. Inviting everyone to seek international alliances in their membership, through twinning for Municipalities, international projects for schools, universities and research, offices abroad for companies. The aim is to involve expat relatives and friends, inviting foreign people and communities to join M’Illumino di Meno.
