Human rights in the world

That of Patrick Zaky, an Egyptian student arrested and detained in Egypt for over 22 months is just one of the latest cases of failure to respect human rights. His and other cases of violation will be discussed in the meeting on Wednesday 6 April 2022 at 9 pm at the Daniele Bertotto auditorium together with Angela Vitale of Amnesty International, organized by Anpi Avigliana with the patronage of the Municipality. Moderating the meeting, sponsored by the City of Avigliana, will be Daniela Molinero, president of Anpi Avigliana. The conference takes its cue from the latest Amnesty International Annual Report. It will give an overview of the state of human rights in the world, and then address some highly topical situations: the situation of women in Afghanistan, human rights violated in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the rights of refugees, the lack of freedom of expression in some countries.

The activists of the Italia 115 Group – committed to promoting human rights in the area of Collegno, Grugliasco, Rivoli, Beinasco and its surroundings in the province of Turin for over 20 years – will read the testimonies of victims of human rights violations and of people on whom Amnesty International worked to underline the importance of taking action in the defense of human rights.
