diversity or inequality? – meeting with the Ass. Circolarmente

As part of the 2024/25 annual review “So equal, so different”, the Circolarmente association announces the fifth meeting which will be held on Wednesday 26 February 2025 at 8.45 pm, in the Daniele Bertotto auditorium.

Adriano Favole, full professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Turin, will speak on the topic: “Diversity or inequality? Notes from the field of anthropology”. By definition an anthropologist deals with cultures, intercultural relations, changes. Through stories and field episodes, Adriano Favole addresses a central theme to his discipline, but more generally to our times. Why is linguistic and cultural diversity, a great wealth for humanity, so often linked to conflicts, wars and inequalities? Why is living together so difficult? And again: are the cultures in which we live cages that enclose us or leave escape routes?
