Black boy fly – The rise of Major Taylor

An unmissable evening in Piazza Conte Rosso on Sunday, July 14 at 7 PM organized by Casa Conte Rosso and Ciclocucina under the patronage of the City of Avigliana as part of the exhibition “Jumbo, itineraries of rhythm. Traveling between sounds and flavors from the world in the light of the sunset”.

The show “Black boy fly, the rise of Major Taylor” by Marco Ballestracci, based on his homomous novel, whick tells the story of the first African-American cyclist capable of becoming world champion on track in the middle of racial segregation in 1899.

Ballestracci, author and ex-rugby player, will lead the audience with his unique storytelling, accompanied by the blues notes of Marco Pandolfi that will play the guitar, the harmonica and singing voice. An evening of culture and fun, in the heart of the historic center of Avigliana.
