At the discover of Pillar of Santuario Madonna dei laghi

On Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April, as part of the celebrations for the 650th anniversary of the birth of Giacomo Jaquerio, as a historical and cultural popularizer of the Friends of Avigliana Association, Andrea Carnino will allow the public to discover, free of charge, the pillar of the Sanctuary of the Madonna dei Laghi, whose fresco depicting the “Madonna del Latte” was repainted in 1447 on behalf of Duke Ludovico of Savoy and the work is attributed to Jaquerio or his school.
The public, after learning the history of the Sanctuary and admiring the pillar, will have the opportunity to discover the magnificent paintings kept in the place of worship, many of which were donated by the Savoy family.
The visits will be held every half hour at the following times:
Saturday 5: 2:00 p.m.; 2:30 p.m.; 3:00 p.m.; 3:30 p.m.; 4:30 p.m.
Sunday 6: 2:00 p.m.; 14.30 and 15
The reenactors of the Historical Group “La Corte del Conte Rosso” of Avigliana will be present.
No reservation is necessary.
