42° Edition -Palio Storico dei Borghi di Avigliana

The calendar of the historical Palio of the villages of Avigliana has been defined. The program of events is packed with three dates. Saturday 7 June the canoe regatta at Cva, Saturday 14 with the historical parade and the races, Sunday 15 the races, the horse race and the final torchlight procession with fireworks.

Centro Velico Cva corso Laghi, 282
at 4 pm canoe regatta on Lago Grande followed by awards ceremony and aperitif

Saturday 14
Sanctuary of the Madonna dei Laghi – Corso Laghi, 278
at 5 pm mass and blessing of the Palio with parade of the historical procession to the Cga field in Via Oronte Nota, 3
at 6 pm arrival of the historical procession and delivery of the keys of the City of Avigliana to the Red Count by the mayor and opening of the medieval taverns
at 6:30 pm drummer competition
at 7:30 pm tug of war competition
during the evening shows and entertainment by the association of flag-wavers and musicians of the City of Avigliana of the groups Asti buhurt club” and “Belly….ssime”
at 10 pm theatrical show “Correva l’anno 1389” by the historical group “La Corte del Conte Rosso” and the association “La terra dei Cavalli”
followed by a great show by “Il Carro delle Illusioni”

Sunday 15
Parco Alveare verde, Corso Laghi, 100
at 3 pm departure of the historical procession towards the race field
Campo Cga via Oronte Nota, 3
at 4 pm arrival of the procession and parade
at 5 pm departure of the qualifying heats for the horse race, archery competition, final horse race to win the Palio
at 8 pm dinner by reservation: “al banchetto del Conte Rosso”
at 10.15 pm departure of the torchlight procession towards Piazza Conte Rosso
at 11 pm fireworks display.
